Cyber Crime Bill Will Crush Online Dissent Warns Article 19
International Freedom of Expression Institute, Article 19, flew into The Gambia last week to meet stakeholders and warn about the dangers of the Cyber Crime Bill currently in Parliament.

The Gambia’s National Assembly is scheduled to start their Second Ordinary Session of the year 2024 on 24th June and conclude on 24th July 2024 which will see the return of the Women's Amendment Bill, the controversial Vetting Bill and President Adama Barrow’s 2024 State of the Nation Address.
Parliament Approves Over D169 Million in Cuts and Reallocations to 2024 Appropriation Bill
Parliamentarians approved the 2024 Appropriation Bill on Tuesday 12th December 2023 which included cuts and reallocations to the budget lines of various government institutions.
2024 Budget Speech: Inflation Reached Record High 18.5% in September 2023
During the Finance Minister’s 2024 Budget Speech he highlighted that Inflation reached a record high 18.5% in September 2023 and noted some of the steps the government took bring down the cost of fuel and food in particular in an attempt to curb inflation and price increases.
